Biodiversity Photo Contest – tell us your story

World Environment Day 2010 is coming upon us in just one short month. It is intended to be the biggest, most widely celebrated global day for positive, environmental action ever.

Never one to miss a party, the Plastiki crew are joining in the festivities, and as always, you’re all invited as well. We’d specifically love your help highlighting positive steps we can all take to end the biodiversity crisis (you know, the whole disappearing fish stocks, coral reef degradation, habitat destruction, waste-clogging-up-our-ecosystems crisis that’s leading to the loss of species across the globe at a shocking rate). We’ve partnered with National Geographic and the United Nations World Environment Day team to sponsor the Innovation for Biodiversity Photo Contest, in an effort for all of us to share ideas and inspiration to end the biodiversity crisis.

This is an international competition to highlight photographs that tell the story of efforts to end biodiversity loss and safeguard our planets natural resources. It’s open to anyone over the age of 13. There’s $3,000 on the line, including $500 for the crowd favorite. So even if you don’t have a photograph of your own to submit, we encourage you to check it out and tell us your favorite pictures. The finalists will be announced on World Environment Day, their pictures and stories becoming part of this global day of action. You can find all the details about the challenge, as well as how to enter here at Myoo Create.

Look forward to seeing your photos!
