This years Green Drinks NYC holiday event will be bringing some much needed attention to our oceans and the growing issue of plastic pollution in our waterways.

On Tuesday December 14th, from 8pm to midnight, the M1-5 Lounge New York will be taken over by the Green Drinks group, with David de Rothschild as the events speaker, as well as a Silent Auction, festive dancing and even a ‘chocolate room’ (Fairtrade, of course!). David will be introduced by Fabien Cousteau, aquatic filmmaker and oceanographic explorer and grandson of the noted oceanographic explorer Jacques Cousteau.

The silent auction presents a great chance for some last minute Christmas gifts with items ranging from eco home-ware to an IWC Pilot’s Watch and a Bikini bootcamp break – just what you need for a post holiday detox! And even better, the proceeds will go towards the Algalita Marine Research Foundation which is dedicated to the protection of the marine environment and its watersheds through research, education, and restoration.

Green Drinks NYC was founded in 2002 and is an environmental networking organization dedicated to unifying the sustainable community in New York. So if you fancy finding out more about the plastic pollution in our ocean, and helping to raise money for Sculpt the Future Foundation and the Algalita Marine Research Foundation then head on down, tickets can be bought in advance here.
